Being In Between is always a little weird. I'm listed for a renal transplant, but I'm waiting for the actual match and transplant. A funny little in-between period, for sure.
In the In-between, the two most oft asked questions are 'How are you doing?' and 'What do you do in the in-between?'
The answer to 'How are you doing?': overall, I'm doing well, but I am eager to find a match.
I'm hopeful that you will sign up to see if you're a match for me and that you will share this page and encourage your friends and family to sign up to donate too.
You all give me a lot to be hopeful for as February comes to a close and spring begins to emerge. Spring is truly the best and most hopeful season with the daffs blooming, the red bud trees providing pops of color among the still dormant hardwood trees, and crispy but warm air embraces you. Spring is a time of delight at future prospects. It's a time of hope and wonder at what will flower and what opportunity will emerge next. And the more folks who reach out to me and the more times I see nckidney.com shared, the more hopeful I am.
The best way to answer the latter question is to show you. So, I'm starting the Kidneys in the Wild Campaign to show you tidbits of my days and to show you how I occupy myself in the In Between. If there is any unifying thread in the Transplant World or the In-Between, it's that no one's path is the same. That's why it's important to me to share my path with you: as a way to show you how transplant can enable a full life and to give you insight into the journey that your kidney would be on with me. One of the amazing parts of kidney transplant is that you get to be a part of the life you save. You can see your organ in action: your kidney in the wild. To me, that's quite special.
Kidneys in the Wild is to give you a preview of the life your kidney will live. And I intend to make it an exciting adventure! Follow me on Facebook and Instagram (@carolydz) for daily updates!
Thank you for following me and continuing to sign up and share my page.
Happy almost spring! Love, Carolyn
Sending you love and the very best wishes!!!!!
I am sending ALL the good kidney vibes and then some. I have Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease, so kidney health and transplant access is a cause especially near and dear to my heart.
